FAQs

You need to install FSUIPC - see below for download links

Check you have FSUIPC installed!

AirHauler communicates with Flight Sim using FSUIPC - if you have installed it, you should see an FSUIPC menu item in the Add-On's menu while flying in Flight Simulator. If not, you can get it from Pete Dowsons pages here:

http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html

You need version 4.53 for FSX, and 3.93 for FS9/2004. You don't need to register it, when the installer finishes choose "enter registration key", and then just cancel.

After installing Air Hauler and running it for the first time I receive the following error message: "Unhandled exception has occurred in your application" etc.

Please ensure that you have installed Air Hauler into the default location that the installer prompts you with (i.e. Program Files) rather than into FS2004 or FSX itself. Please reinstall if necessary.
Also please ensure that you have Microsoft's .NET 2.0 installed and also install the latest service pack for Air Hauler

Some people are experiencing this problem whilst AVG anti-virus software is running. Unfortunately it appears that AVG is interfering with the installer, preventing installation. Please do the following to temporarily disable AVG:

  1. Open the Control Center
  2. Double click the Resident Shield
  3. Remove the checkmarks next to the option labeled "Turn on AVG Resident Shield protection".
Please remember to enable the Resident Shield after installation of the update

Updates

Air Hauler Service Pack 3.9

Air Hauler Service Pack 3.9 is a cumulative update to version 1.52 for both Download and Boxed users. Updated 26 February 2010.

This update is for the English version of Air Hauler only. A German update will follow shortly.

New features and fixes introduced by this update:

- Twitter Integration!

You can set a Twitter account for your AI pilots to Tweet to as they go about their duties. Note that they DON'T tweet as AH processes jobs when it first starts - this is because the twitter API only accepts 150 requests per hour, so if they did, they might use the whole allocation in a few seconds. After the initial launch, they'll tweet. There's a new section in the options page for the twitter account details and if you want to use it or not.

- AirHauler Chat Room

Chat Room now available on the Radar screen page - AH will log you into it automatically when you click the connect button on the chat page, and you can talk to other AirHaulers! Access to the chat from the Stats Portal will also be provided.

- Logitech G15 LCD Keyboard Support (G19 support coming later!)

If you have the G15 keyboard, while in AH, it'll show your company name, cash, fleet, pilots and base counts, and if you're flying an aircraft, it'll show the aircraft name, speed, altitude and fuel (both weight and percentage). I'll be adding more functionality in due course!

- Radar display - Altitude and Speeds

The Radar now shows the correct Alt's and Speeds for all the flying pilots.

- Job Generation

Non-base job generation now pays more attention to the airport size slider (it was ignoring it before).

The "Generating Jobs" screen is now modal rather than Top most so you can minimise AirHauler while it's generating jobs. AH will "bing" when it has finished so you know to go back to it.

You can now influence the number of base to base jobs which AirHauler generates using the slider in Options.  Note that AH will not create jobs for bases in close proximity, and that base to base jobs (as they are internal company transfers) will gain you less reputation and lower fees.

- Fuel Loading

AH will load left/right tanks first, then centerline tanks.

- Inactive Aircraft

Inactive Aircraft are now hidden from the Select Aircraft list, you can check a tickbox to show them

- "Difficulty" now shown in the title bar of the AirHauler screen

As above - so you get Slopeair [Medium] in the title. Also, the difficulty is shown in a column on the Company Chooser on startup.

- AI pilots & Jobs Board/Ops Maps

The AI pilots in-flight are now shown on the map and will move as they progress along their flight-plans. I've added a Map view as a tab in the Ops screen so you can see them there also. They move on the Jobs Board page map too.

- Printing Maps

You can now print the Map from the Jobs Board and Radar pages amongst others.
